The Auld Kirk
The Auld Kirk is a fine example of an early Victorian Scottish Free Church building set in the heart of Royal Deeside, within the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. Constructed from local granite, our guest house sits on the western edge of the historic village of Ballater, minutes away from its centre, and looking onto Craig en Darroch (the hill of Oaks), on the road towards Braemar. Being close to Balmoral Castle, we are in the perfect location to visit a number of attractions including the famous whisky trail, two ski centres, the city of Aberdeen and the stunning landscapes of Royal Deeside.
We offer comfortable accommodation with en suite facilities, with 4 well appointed guest bedrooms situated on the first floor of the building.
Our coffee lounge is a stylish spot that is popular with locals and visitors alike. It is a great place to stop for a morning coffee, meet friends for a light lunch or linger over an indulgent afternoon tea.
