  • Additional information

The Blue Door House is located just outside Cahersiveen on the Ring Of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. The area is an ideal hub for lots of outdoor activities to enjoy the beautiful rugged countryside. Beautiful beaches, historic stone forts, and old castles can be visited in the vicinity. We are in the heart of the Kerry Dark Skies Reserve so you can enjoy wonderful night skies away from the disturbing light sources in the more populated areas of Europe. A boat trip to the Skellig Islands, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of the most spectacular trips this area has to offer. Its unique history and beauty has even attracted the makers of the latest Star Wars Movies which has been filmed here in recent years. A visit to Valentia Island is another highlight of this area. We are only a few miles from the Point where the car ferry leaves for the island. Some of the outdoor activities available in the area include hill walking, sailing, surfing, kayaking, diving, horse riding, golf, fishing or bird watching. The town offers plenty of pubs with live Irish music, restaurants with delicious local seafood, cafes, and shops.
